A Practical Nursing School Guide for the Things No One Really Explains
Nursing School Without Losing Your Mind is a practical, honest guide for nursing students who want more than another textbook telling them what to memorize. It focuses on the parts of nursing school students are often expected to figure out on their own: how to study more effectively, approach nursing-style exams, prepare for clinicals, manage stress, recover from mistakes, and keep nursing school from taking over every part of life.
The book blends practical advice, personal experience, humor, and perspective from someone who has experienced nursing education from multiple sides—as a student, registered nurse, instructor, and nurse practitioner.
It is not a clinical reference book. It is the kind of straightforward guidance many students wish they had before their first semester.

Meet the Author
B. Edward Hill is a doctorate-prepared nurse practitioner who is currently in practice, registered nurse, and former nursing instructor.
His career has given him the unusual opportunity to experience nursing education from nearly every angle: first as a student trying to navigate nursing school, then as a practicing nurse, as an instructor working directly with nursing students, and now as a nurse practitioner in clinical practice.
Nursing School Without Losing Your Mind grew out of the lessons, mistakes, observations, and advice he wished had been easier to find when he was a student himself.
His goal is simple: to give nursing students practical perspective they can actually use, without pretending nursing school is easy or that there is one perfect way to get through it.
